Max brings an impressive range of experience covering more than 45 years as a property professional and in his role as a Registered Valuer.

Starting his career as a valuer with Wellington City Council, including three years as City Valuer, Max worked as an estate surveyor for the Hong Kong Government for six years. On his return, Keys Preston Maskell appointed him as Manager of Property Management at a regional and national level. Max established his own valuation firm based in north Wellington and after 18 years took up a position as Wellington manager for Quotable Valuation before joining Prendos in 2010.

Having established an active Wellington valuation practice for Prendos, Max carried out valuations of residential commercial, light industrial and public property sectors for mainly mortgage, insurance, and legal purposes.

After 18 months of commercial, residential and development experience with Darroch, Max has returned to running his own business and providing the personal service and client commitment he finds most rewarding.

Max is an experienced expert witness in High Court proceedings, particularly with leaky buildings, and has considerable expertise in the areas of residential valuations, replacement insurance valuations, feasibility studies, development finance valuations and assessments under the Unit Titles Act.

Clearly a man of fortitude and staying power, Max competed in two world championship sailing events, three marathons, gained master's degrees in business and property, completed the full Taupo Ironman twice and sailed around the North Island.

MEET MARY

Property Management and Long Term Maintenance Plan

Contact Mary Meyers on mary@mmco.nz or

021 083 80966

Mary is a Property Manager. She has lived in Wellington and owned rental investment properties, and has been signing up tenants, collecting the rent and attending to repairs and maintenance for decades.

She is proud to say that she has had no “bad” tenants and puts this down to having good communication and being quick to respond to any issues. One of her favourite sayings is “treat people how you would like to be treated yourself”.

Mary’s knowledge of rental properties is an asset to any landlord. She knows the pitfalls and dangers in the business and will very quickly find solutions when problems arise. After years in the industry Mary has curated relationships with her trusted vendors. She keeps abreast of the legal requirements and recognises the importance of having premises that are warm and comfortable for tenants. She says, “It’s a win-win for landlords and tenants resulting in lower turnover rates.”

With Mary’s background in real estate sales, she believes that property owners should aim to have their homes ready for sale most of the time, not just when they are thinking of selling. The advantage of this is that owners get to fully enjoy it, landlords are more likely to receive full market rent, and the work is all done when it comes time to sell.

You can rely on Mary to get things done, she is an excellent communicator and property professional. When she’s not tending to her properties, you’ll find her cruising on her keelboat, doing D.I.Y. projects in her own home, and spending time with her family.
